This is the first craziest way to purchase the car in Thailand ever. Due to high demand in the electric car, Thai people flooded into BYD showroom from 8 p.m. , Oct 31st, 2022, one night before first delivery date, November 1st, 2022.
Mr. Panithan, the person who took these photos, inform Blink Drive that he had to fly from Chiang Rai, the northernmost province in Thailand, to Bangkok, Capital city in order to purchase this BYD Atto 3. Due to his finance, he want to purchase the car via the auto loan, instead of cash, but BYD showroom in Chiang Rai refused him to give him a loan because they want cash payment only, so he had to travel to Bangkok on that night in order to secure his reservation because BYD will start selling BYD Atto 3 on November 1st, 2022.
The police arrived in the middle of the night
Mr. Panithan informed us that Bangkok police shown up at BYD showroom at 1 a.m. due to a fleet of people gathering around the showroom. First, they turn on the siren and watch the situation on the scene. After a few minute, police decided to leave after they learnt about the story in this showroom.
First person arrive at 8 p.m.
Mr. Panithan gave us the photo of the first person who was the first queue in the line. The left lady was the first person arrive at BYD Kwang Thai Ekamai-Ramindra Showroom at 8 p.m., and she remained here for a whole night to keep her queue. The second person in the line was the gentlemen on the right who arrive at 10 p.m.
The line kept increasing after 1 a.m. People kept coming to this showroom. Eventually, there are more than thirty people at 4 a.m.
BYD Kwang Thai Ekamai-Ramindra wasn’t the first store that had the longest line. On the other hand, BYD phetkasem had more than 100 people waiting to purchase BYD Atto3 at 3 a.m.
This below picture is BYD Spyder Bangna, this guy got 23rd queue at 4 a.m. Now(at 8 a.m.), the line were beyond one hundred queues already.
This is the first time in Thailand that people came out from their home in the middle of the night to reserve the car. The demand of EV in Thailand right now is so ridiculous.
